🚀 AnyDB Release - Nov 14, 2025

Happy November! :maple_leaf:

We have been busy, and there are lots of new major improvements across the board. Many are a direct result of customers we are working with directly. So as always keep the feedback flowing!

Document Generation from AnyDB Records

The Document Generation feature allows you to generate beautifully formatted documents such as quotes, shipping labels, invoices, or asset reports directly from your AnyDB records.

You can define your own .docx or .xlsx templates with special tags that automatically populate with data from a record.

This feature is available in all versions, including the free edition.

Label Based References in Formulas

It is now possible to refer to cells either using position like A1, B2 etc, or using the Label for the cell like {{Price}} or {{Quantity}}. This is very useful since the formula remains the same even when you move the cells around. This is a early access feature and might change possibly in the future based on more user feedback from customers.

Moving Cells in Template preserves values in migrated records

It is now ok to move cells in the template as long as you keep the cell label the same. The cell is moved in all records during migration and the values are also moved with it. (Previously values can be lost as we detected a moved cell as deleted).

Confirmation of Template Changes when updating Templates

When you edit an existing template in AnyDB, you may need to migrate records that were created using an older version of that template. Migration ensures that all records stay consistent with the latest structure and layout defined in your updated template. Now when saving templates, you see a confirmation dialog that shows what changes exactly have been made to the template.

Improved Template Management

A new and improved template management screen is now available.
