This standard record only shows the direct parent of this record on the left of the row below the badge-rowt but does not show the grandparent or greatgrandparent (like breadcrumbs). Sometimes I edit a child-record but after a while )or some distraction) I become uncertain about whom’s child I am updating.
The fields have a lot of format options (link-to, lookup, formula) but non simply displays a field or name of a parent or grandparent. Could family-tree become a field-format?

We do show the hierarchy as breadcrumb in the full view of an object (not in the quick view).

You can open the full by always clicking the full view link in every listing
You can also expand it from the quick view using the full view link in the top
Ok. I did not realise there was a difference between clicking on the underlined name of a child (shows a pop-up) or on the right-upward-arrow beside the child-name (shows a full screen view of the child).
