A portal gives customers, vendors, partners, contractors, and other guests a simple place to access records and forms shared with them.

Internal versus external access​

Team members work inside the full workspace according to their roles. They may browse databases, create records, use shared views, and perform operational work.

Portal guests see only the specific records, files, folders, pages, and forms shared with them. They cannot browse the surrounding database or share records onward. Their Viewer or Editor role controls what they can do with each item.

A portal is a controlled window into the system, not a second copy of its data.
